Tony working with Attie, a gorgeous Shamrock Macaw.  Tony has been working with birds for about 10 years now and has been with Healthipets for over a year.  On the other side Tony is working with one of our biggest cuddlebugs, Rocky.  Rocky is a 32 year old umbrella cockatoo and he is a real sweetheart!

Steven is one of our newer volunteers at the rescue.  He already demonstrates a great compassion for the birds and is very eager to learn all that he can about the different types of birds and their behaviors.  Here he is with Waldo, a very brightly colored Sun Conure that took quite a shine to Steven.  On the right he is with Paco, a blue-fronted amazon.

Stephanie with Glacier, a gorgeous icy blue budgie.  Stephanie tends to prefer the little guys for right now as she is not quite sure just how to take the macaws yet.  She is planning on working her way up to the larger birds, but hey, the little fellows need lovin too.  Not one to waste time, Stephanie has already upgraded her birdie buddie to an amazon.  Paco looks quite content with her, doesn't he?

Tommy is a volunteer that absolutely loves African Greys.   Here he is with Elmer.  Go figure!  LOL  Tommy's Grey Spike will hopefully be home with him soon.  Tommy cannot wait.  Tommy is also holding Jade, a gorgeous female greenwing macaw.  Don't they make a lovely couple?  LOL

This is Richard, our very own "Speedy Gonzalez" of cage cleaning.  LOL  Richard is holding Lexi, a B&G Macaw that came to us with no history at all.  She has both legs broken, one in tow places, a dislocated carpal joint on her right wing, both feet are deformed, and she was severely malnourished.  She is beginning to show signs of improvement.  Richard is also shown with Indy on his shoulder.  Indy is a white fronted or spectacled Amazon, the smallest of her species.  Luckily, she is in tip top shape.

This is volunteer Deb with Max, a slightly plucked but very lovable B&G Macaw and Sammy, a gorgeous Moluccan Cockatoo.  Deb is a single mom raising two lovely daughters that often come in and help out as well.   They have 4 cockatiels and a lovebird at home, but come here for their "Big Bird" fix.  LOL  Deb swears she will have a big bird one of these days and we believe her.  All the birds really seem to take to her.
