                        SINBAD

This is Sinbad.  He is a Blue and Gold Macaw over 30 years young.  We know he is at least that old due to the prior owner having him for that long, but she knew nothing of his life prior to that.  His previous owner was afraid of him and did not handle him at all so we have been quite impressed at his willingness to respond to our hand training.  He is already stepping up and sitting pretty without biting or nipping unless he is spooked.  It appears he just needed attention and working with.  I think he is going to make a wonderful companion bird for the right person.  His adoption fee will be  $700.

Here you will find birds that are available through HealthiPet Network. Many of these birds come to us from areas where the rescues are full, and even from rescues as well.

In our shelter now.....

Small Birds:

We also have Sunshine,  an Australian Cinnamon mutation of the Peachfaced Lovebird.  She is approximately 3  and 1/2 years old and is the mother of the youngster below.  She  underwent surgery to have a huge tumor removed from her back, but she seems to be doing very well right now.  Her  adoption fee is $50.00 .  Thank you for looking!

Her offspring is Dayzee Mae, and is believed to be a Dutch Blue mutation of the Peachfaced Lovebird and is also a female.  She also appears to be in perfect health and has gorgeous and very unusual coloring.  She is about 2 years old and seems to be quite tame.  Her adoption fee is $50.00 .

We currently have several zebra finches for adoption.  These were all rescued from a breeder in Alabama after he passed away.  These little angels are quite active and have a sweet little singing voice.  Must be adopted in pairs.  Adoption fee is $10 per bird.

Medium Birds:

Indy, a white front or spectacled Amazon will soon be coming up for adoption.   Indy is a 10 year old female and is one of the smaller Amazons, closer in size to most Conures than most Amazons.   She is a very unique bird due to her colorations.  She is also on the CITES II endangered list I believe.  A great little bird to have.  Her adoption fee is $400.00.

Butch is an 8 year old mitred conure.  He came from an unhappy situation that had him plucking his chest feathers.  We haven't seen him plucking lately so hope he may get some of his feathers back in, but he may have follicle damage preventing this from happening.  He is a pretty bird with bright gorgeous red markings.  He is also quite a little talker and has a really good vocabulary.  His adoption fee is $250.00.

Oden is a beautiful white faced cockatiel in perfect feather.  His age is unknown but believed to be a young adult.  His beak is split but does not seem to give him any problems nor is it very noticeable.  He is quiet for a cockatiel and would probably make a great companion for somebody living in an apartment where noise was an issue.  His adoption fee is $50.00.

Mikey and Markey are brothers about 4 years old.  They are normal male greys split to pearl.  They are quite bonded and need to be adopted together.  They are both perfectly gorgeous birds with no known flaws or defects.  Could easily be hand tamed.  Their adoption fee is $80.00 for the pair.

We also have several other cockatiels in our rescue right now.  Most are normal greys or pearls.  Both are very healthy and extremely beautiful.  These birds make a great first time bird and are fairly easy to care for.  Adoption fee is $40 for normal greys and $50 for pearls.

Large Birds:

Poncho is a gorgeous double yellow headed Amazon.  She is approximately 18 years old so still has many wonderful years ahead of her.  She is very curious and very social.  She has always been a pet, but was not handled the last few years of her life due to her owners ill health.  With a little work she ought to make quite a nice companion for anybody.  Her adoption fee is $600.00.

Extra-Large Birds:

This is Elvis, so named because of his "Blue Suede Shoe" appearance.  LOL  Elvis a a beautiful fully feathered Blue and Gold Macaw.   He is still a youngin at 8 years old, but through with the terrible two's.  :-)   His adoption fee is $700.00.
